cost a lot of money to make and operate would simply be left to rust in a field somewhere These Russian aircraft have a haunting appeal though and an indescribable kind of beauty

Want to buy a salvaged aircraft?
Q. Does anyone know where i can buy a salvaged jet to restore? Any boneyard/graveyard websites?

A. I don't think you'll get a salvaged aircraft to restore for the following reasons. 1 Aircraft are such expensive items, typically 35,000 fo a twenty year old Cessna, if its been involved in an accident, the insurers would have looked at it very carefully and if it were possible to restore it, they would. 2 If an aircraft has been written off, there is no way the CAA would allow an amateur to restore it to flying condition. 3 Even if you had the necessary skills and facilities to do a restoration, the cost would be greater than the value of the aircraft. 4 The time taken for such a project, even with a small aircraft would probably run into several years, given the amount of work you can do and having all the necessary inspections… [cont.]
